Job Summary
This senior role leads Group Audit’s approach for Lloyds Bank Corporate Markets (LBCM) and reports to the Chair of the LBCM Audit Committee. The Chief Internal Auditor is responsible for delivering a risk‑focused audit plan and providing independent assurance to the LBCM Audit Committee and Executive Management.
Role Purpose and Accountabilities
The LBCM Chief Internal Auditor has third‑line accountability for assurance across all LBCM entities, is end‑to‑end responsible for the audit plan, and attends the LBCM Audit Committee and other senior committees to provide credible, constructive insight.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure the audit plan covers material and emerging risks and is delivered to a consistently high professional standard.
- Attend and present at the LBCM Audit Committee and other senior committees, providing clear insight on audit conclusions, risk themes and remediation status.
- Assess whether significant risks are identified, escalated and reported to the Committees and Executive Management.
- Lead, develop and sustain a high‑performing audit team with the capability to operate in a complex Markets environment.
- Contribute to the strategic development of the wider Group Audit function.
- Maintain open, constructive relationships with regulators and support information sharing in line with regulatory responsibilities.
Qualifications and Experience
- Judgement and accountability – Extensive senior‑level audit and risk experience within financial services, with a track record of operating at Board and Executive level and strong understanding of SMF accountability.
- Technical and business expertise – Deep knowledge of Markets products, key risks and regulatory requirements, and a strong understanding of the wider economic and business environment.
- Delivery and execution – Proven experience leading Audit Committee outputs, delivering concise and high‑quality outputs against competing priorities and demanding schedules.
- Collaboration and influence – Builds constructive relationships with senior stakeholders across LBCM, Group Audit and the wider Group with confidence and credibility.
- Leadership and people capability – Provides clear direction, sets expectations and leads with confidence and authority, coordinating teams across functions and jurisdictions.
- Governance, conduct and integrity – Demonstrates high standards of conduct, integrity and professionalism aligned to corporate values and regulatory expectations.
- Communication – A clear, confident and concise communicator, capable of engaging in formal governance settings and producing Board‑ready outputs.

Work Arrangement
Hybrid: at least two days per week at a London, Bristol or Edinburgh office site. Full‑time.
