THE OPPORTUNITY

We are seeking a skilled Software Engineer with expertise in C++ and Python to join our team supporting an aviation customer on Ground Test Automation project. The role involves ensuring the quality and reliability of the system through rigorous development, testing, documentation, and collaboration with the development team.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Act as Level 1 support for testers, serving as the primary point of contact between testing and development teams
  • Manage and maintain defects identified during testing using tools such as JIRA or Bugzilla
  • Support the deployment and configuration of applications onto test rigs
  • Assist in troubleshooting and debugging issues across the GTA application ecosystem
  • Develop and maintain user guides and technical documentation for the GTA ecosystem in the UK
  • Contribute to Python-based development, including creating scripts and debugging applications
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure efficient test execution and issue resolution
  • Analyse and troubleshoot issues to ensure timely resolution in collaboration with the engineering team.
  • Develop and maintain code that will run on the benches onsite
  • Contribute to the improvement of testing processes and methodologies.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards and customer requirements for testing and documentation.

SKILLS:

  • Experience in a test support, integration, or application support role
  • Strong working knowledge of defect management tools (e.g. JIRA, Bugzilla)
  • Hands‑on experience with application deployment and environment setup
  • Proficiency in Python for scripting, debugging, and development tasks
  • Ability to create clear and structured technical documentation and user guides
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to liaise between technical teams
  • Knowledge of aviation industry standards and practices.
  • Proficiency in scripting languages for test automation.
  • Familiarity with JIRA, Confluence, or other project management tools.
