Job Title: Principal Electrical Design Engineer

We’re recruiting a Principal Electrical Design Engineer to lead electrical system design for advanced machinery and automation projects. This is a senior role with responsibility for design leadership, architecture, safety compliance, and mentoring a small team.
Key Responsibilities
– Lead the electrical design of complex machinery and automated systems.
– Own system architecture, design decisions, and technical direction.
– Run design reviews and ensure high engineering standards.
– Ensure designs meet required safety standards, such as ISO 12100, ISO 13849, EN 60204, BS EN 61010)
– Provide technical mentoring and support to junior and mid‑level engineers.
– Work closely with mechanical, software, and systems teams.
– mprove design processes, documentation, and best practice.
Skills & Experience
– Strong background in electrical design for machinery or automation.
– Proven experience designing to ISO 12100, ISO 13849, EN 60204, BS EN 61010.
– Ability to lead architecture, design reviews, and technical decision‑making.
– Experience mentoring or guiding engineers.
– Proficient with electrical CAD tools (e.g., AutoCAD Electrical, EPLAN, or similar).
– Strong understanding of functional safety and machinery safety requirements.
– Excellent communication and problem‑solving skills.
