£23,500 – £26,000 pa dependent on experience

Full Time • Permanent

We are looking for a Reserves Officer to lead volunteers and contractors across our reserves, ensuring that all works are carried out in line with approved management plans and statutory obligations. The role involves working outdoors across a diverse portfolio of sites, including chalk grasslands and heathlands, and maintaining links with local communities.

Responsibilities

  • Lead volunteers and contractors to deliver management plans and agri‑environment schemes across our reserves.
  • Coordinate projects across different geographical areas, ensuring statutory and contractual obligations are met.
  • Carry out practical, hands‑on tasks throughout the year and drive to remote sites which are not easily accessed by public transport.
  • Maintain accurate records of work and report on the progress of projects.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Previous experience successfully working with volunteers and inspiring others in nature conservation.
  • Knowledge and understanding of working to management plans and agri‑environment schemes.
  • Approachable and friendly personality with the ability to work with a wide range of people.
  • Full driving licence – essential for accessing remote locations.
