About the Role
We are working with our client, a leading specialist within the façades and building envelope sector, who are seeking an experienced Project Director to lead the successful delivery of a major full envelope package on a large-scale data centre project in mainland Europe.
This is a senior leadership role, responsible for the overall direction, performance, and successful execution of a complex, high-value project from pre-construction through to completion and handover.
The successful candidate will have extensive experience delivering large-scale building envelope projects, ideally within mission‑critical environments such as data centers, industrial facilities, or high‑spec commercial developments.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide overall leadership and strategic direction for a major full envelope project
- Oversee delivery of façade, roofing, cladding, curtain walling, and associated envelope systems
- Manage project execution from pre‑start planning through to completion and client handover
- Lead and coordinate project teams including Project Managers, Design Managers, and Site Managers
- Ensure programme, budget, quality, and safety objectives are consistently achieved
- Act as the primary senior point of contact for the client, main contractor, and key stakeholders
- Drive commercial performance, risk management, and change control across the project
- Oversee procurement strategy and supply chain performance
- Ensure full compliance with contractual obligations, technical requirements, and regulatory standards
- Lead progress reviews, client meetings, and senior reporting functions
- Promote best practice in delivery, innovation, and value engineering
Key Requirements
- Proven experience at Project Director or Senior Project Manager level within façades or building envelope sector
- Strong track record delivering large‑scale envelope packages on complex projects
- Experience working on data centres or mission‑critical / high‑spec industrial projects preferred
- Deep understanding of curtain walling, cladding systems, roofing, and façade interfaces
- Strong commercial acumen with experience managing multi‑million‑pound project budgets
- Excellent leadership skills with ability to manage large, multi‑disciplinary teams
- Strong client‑facing experience with Tier 1 / Tier 2 main contractor environments
- Ability to manage complex programmes and deliver under tight deadlines
- Willingness to be site‑based in mainland Europe for the duration of the project
