Interim Financial Controller

A fast-paced and growing retail/FMCG business is seeking an experienced Interim Financial Controller. Reporting directly to the FD, this is a hands-on role requiring strong technical expertise and the ability to operate in a dynamic, high-volume environment. You will play a key role in maintaining financial control, driving process improvements, and supporting the business through a critical period.

As Interim Financial Controller, you will be:

• Overseeing all aspects of financial reporting, ensuring accuracy and timely delivery of monthly and year-end accounts.
• Managing and developing the finance team, providing clear leadership and direction.
• Leading the month-end close process, including balance sheet reconciliations and P&L analysis.
• Ensuring robust financial controls and compliance are in place across the business.
• Partnering with senior stakeholders to provide commercial insight and support decision-making.
• Supporting cash flow management, working capital optimisation, and forecasting.
• Driving improvements in systems, processes, and reporting efficiency.
• Liaising with auditors and external advisors as required.

Requirements:

• ACA, ACCA qualified or equivalent.
• Proven experience as a Financial Controller within retail, FMCG, or a similar high-volume environment.
• Good stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Strong technical accounting knowledge.
