Research & Development Technician

An innovative technology company based in Cambridge is seeking an R&D Technician to support hands-on research, assembly and testing activities within its growing development team.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys practical engineering work, precision assembly and laboratory-based development, working closely with scientists and engineers on advanced electrochemical technologies.

The role sits within a collaborative scale-up environment focused on turning cutting-edge concepts into real-world products.

The Rol

eYou will support day-to-day R&D and engineering activities across cell preparation, assembly, testing and quality control

.

Key responsibilitie

s:• Prepare raw materials including electrodes, electrolytes and polymer-based components following established procedur

es• Assemble, inspect and prepare electrochemical cells, stacks and associated hardwa

re• Support functional and electro-mechanical testing activities, including post-test disassembly and analys

is• Operate workshop equipment such as milling and drilling machines for tooling and component modificatio

ns• Assist with prototype builds and contribute to continuous improvement initiativ

es• Carry out routine quality checks, stock control, maintenance and calibration activiti

es• Diagnose faults and support basic repairs where requir

ed• Maintain accurate documentation and recor

ds• Ensure high standards of health, safety and housekeeping within laboratory and workshop environmen

ts

About

You• Mechanical Bias, with practical experience within a production, laboratory, workshop, QC or cleanroom environm

ent• Comfortable operating machine tools such as milling and drilling equipm

ent• Engineering, technical or laboratory qualification (or equivalent hands-on experien

ce)• Experience working to SOPs within controlled environments such as GMP, GLP or production setti

ngs• Strong manual dexterity and attention to det

ail• Able to carry out repetitive tasks with a high level of accuracy and consiste

ncy• Basic computer skills including Excel and W

ord• Collaborative mindset with a proactive and reliable approach to w

ork
