Reporting to the Director of Silicon Architecture, the SoC Architects are responsible for the design, specification, modelling and integration of sub-systems within complex, high performance and highly integrated silicon devices at the forefront of AI acceleration technology.

The role involvesclosecollaboration with othergroups, includingarchitecture,silicon design,verification,hardwareand softwareteams.

The Team

The Silicon Architecture Teamsits within theCOOgroup.The SoC architectsareresponsible forthe architectural specification,integration,modelling,validationand evaluationofnumerouscriticalsub-systems,including high-speed interfacesforourupcomingAI acceleration platforms.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Distillingproductrequirementsand their effects on SoC/platform design trade-offs
  • Collaboratingwithprocessor, SoC and systemarchitectsto determine optimal solutions
  • Collaborating with silicon design,verification,and hardwareengineersto ensureimplementationcorrectness
  • Evaluating potentialhard and softthird-partyIPand liaising withthird party IP vendors
  • Design and specification ofperformantSoC sub-systemsand their associated integrations
  • Contribute to the silicon bring-up,characterisationand evaluationactivities as required
  • Silicon Architecture Team representation within cross-functional working groups
  • Implement discussed infrastructure and processesimprovementsagreed with team
  • Assist with debugging activities

Candidate Profile

  • Degree inElectronic Engineering,ComputerScienceor related subject
  • Solid understanding of computer/SoCarchitecture
  • Experienced in the writing of technical specifications
  • Knowledge of RTL development and verification processes
  • Be highly motivated, aself-starter, and a team player
  • Ability to work across teams and programming languages
  • Experiencein thetechnicalspecification ofsiliconSoC devices
  • Experience ofmachine learning ormassively parallel computing systems
  • Low-level softwareexperience, embedded C
  • Knowledge of one or more of DDR, PCIe, Ethernet, on-chip networks
