About the Role

We are a diverse team of mental health nurses, occupational therapists, social workers and administrators who are currently seeking clinicians to work in the Mid and West ICA areas of Cornwall.

The role requires frequent travel to various locations throughout the county, including areas that may not be accessible by public transportation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide holistic mental health assessments, acting as the first professional to listen to individuals’ stories.
  • Use clinical knowledge to signpost the next best step across NHS, social care and VCSE services.
  • Manage a busy diary and juggle multiple appointments.
  • Build positive working relationships and collaborate with GPs, other referral agencies, community mental health teams (including Early Interventions in Psychosis, Home Treatment Teams and Talking Therapies).
  • Work with colleagues to triage and manage referrals to secondary mental health services.
  • Participate in the development and implementation of new ways of working as the assessment service evolves.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Professional registration as a mental‑health nurse (RMN), registered licenced nurse (RNLD), occupational therapist or social worker.
  • Experience in working independently to provide mental health assessments.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to build relationships with health and social care professionals.
  • Ability to manage frequent and sometimes challenging travel requirements.
