Job SummaryElectrical Design Engineer with a thorough understanding of all aspects of electrical design, working withinthe aerospace industry.Scope of ResponsibilitiesBased in Cwmbran, South Wales, working as part of the Electrical Design Department. Responsible forproducing electrical installation models and detail drawings. Using various software packages for newproduct and platform designs that meet company, regulatory and customer requirements.

Key Responsibilities and Duties 3D harness design, electrical schematics and block diagrams Responsible for the design and integration of electrical systems within aircraft seats to comply withcompany, regulatory and customer requirements Generating 2D/3D electrical installation and systems designs using CATIA V5 and PLM software. Participate in Design Reviews throughout each phase of the New Product Introduction process Design engineers will be expected to communicate effectively and professionally with customers,suppliers & OEM’s Ensure the successful integration of each design element within the product as a whole Participate in the validation of the product (using such methods as prototyping, test, etc) Follow and contribute to the development of the Best Practice guidelines From time to time, Design engineers must be prepared to undertake tasks outside of their normalduties as requested by their immediate supervisors

Job Requirements

Knowledge, Experience, Training and QualificationsIdeally qualified to a minimum of a degree in an Electrical Engineering field.Alternatively, a HNC / HND or an equivalent qualification as part of anElectrical Apprenticeship with demonstrated post qualification experiencegained within a technical role.EssentialProven experience working in an Electrical Design roleDesirableExperience using 3D CAD & AutoCAD electrical software packages orequivalent EssentialThe applicant should have an understanding of the effective application oftolerances and a working knowledge of manufacturing processes, as well asOEM installation requirements.EssentialExperience working with Boeing and Airbus specifications for electricalequipment installation. DesirableA working knowledge of the various methods of manufacture and test ofelectrical and electronic Components DesirableAbility to read design drawings and specificationsEssentialExperience in new model introduction Desirable

Competencies, Behaviours and SkillsGood communicator liaising with customers/airframers/suppliers andintegrated programme team on a daily basisEssentialRequired to hold a full U.K. Driving License and Passport, as some UK andoverseas travel may be required Desirable
