Salary: £25,583 pro rata. Working hours: 32.5 hours per week, 45.05 weeks per year.
Position Details
Fixed term until 21st July 2027. Required start: September 2026. We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant for our Reception class to support children in the Early Years.
Responsibilities
Support children’s learning and development through engaging, play‑based experiences, creating a nurturing environment where all pupils can thrive.
Provide a minimum of one afternoon of cover per week, with two afternoons on alternating weeks.
Qualifications and Experience
- Experience working with children/young people in an early years setting.
- Recent experience working in a school.
- A standard of written and spoken English that supports pupils’ learning.
Qualifications/Training
- TA‑specific qualification, full and relevant to NVQ Level 3 in Early Years.
Knowledge and Skills
- Understanding of the varied needs of children as they develop socially and academically.
- Knowledge of behaviour management techniques that support school and classroom practices.
- Knowledge of restorative practice to support SEND pupils.
- Commitment to promoting equal opportunities and meeting individual needs.
- Willingness to undertake appropriate training and personal/professional development.
- Ability to work as part of a team.
- Effective communication, interpersonal and organisational skills.
- Ability to use ICT/email to support pupils’ learning.
