Caretaker 17.5 hours per week

We are seeking to appoint a Caretaker to join our experienced Site Team at Chesterton Community Sports College.

17.5 hours per week (14.30 to 18.00 daily during Term time).

Responsibilities

• Secure school premises.
• Ensure the site is safe, clean, and well‑maintained at all times.
• Carry out routine maintenance, cleaning, and minor repairs.
• Monitor heating, lighting, fire alarms, and security systems.
• Manage waste disposal and replenish consumables (e.g. soap, paper towels).
• Respond to emergency issues (e.g. leaks, faults) and report accordingly.
• Oversee contractors and visitors on site.
• Maintain outdoor areas, including car parks and grounds.

• A proactive, can-do attitude.
• Ability to work independently and take responsibility.
• Friendly, professional approach with students, staff, and visitors.
