About the role

We are currently seeking an enthusiastic HGV 2 Class 2 HIAB Driver for a large well-known timber merchant to deliver to business and residential customers in and around the North West.

Location

South Manchester

Work Pattern

Full time, Monday – Friday (expected minimum 40 hours per week)

Salary

£19.05 per hour (includes holiday pay; alternatively, £17.00 ph with accrued holiday pay). Overtime is paid weekly via PAYE.

Responsibilities

• Securing loads, understanding height restrictions and legal height limits
• 5‑6 drops per day, using HIAB lorry loader
• Driving vehicle responsibly and safely, obeying all traffic laws
• Performing daily vehicle checks to ensure procedural compliance
• Maintaining regular contact with branch managers on daily progress
• Completing paperwork accurately as instructed

Requirements

• Experienced HIAB Operator Certificate with Remote
• Cat C licence (Category C – Class 2)
• HIAB Certificate – Class 2 HIAB Driver
• Valid CPC and digital tachograph card
• No more than 6 points (no DD’s, DR’s, IN’s, TT’s)
• Full UK driving licence held for minimum 1 year
• Able to work to tight deadlines
