Job Overview
Provide performance data to develop and design information systems and support the Management Team in achieving capacity performance targets, while also assisting the administration team. Deliver timely, accurate, and easy-to-understand data, information, and trajectories to support performance and business delivery across the Service.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate closely with Service and Directorate Managers in data reporting, quality assurance, waiting list management, RTT reporting, capacity and demand data, and notify operational managers of any issues or concerns.
- Lead the administrative team, overseeing daily operations, ensuring an efficient workflow, coordinating tasks, managing schedules, and enhancing communication between departments to improve productivity and collaboration.
- Provide support to the administration manager as needed.
- Maintain the Data Quality policy at all times by all members of the Service.
- Participate in the training and supervision of junior staff, such as administrative team members, as appropriate.
- Maintain confidentiality, ensuring that information is disclosed only to authorised sources and by appropriate means.
- Respond to enquiries from patients and healthcare personnel with empathy and reassurance, conveying clinical/medical information when instructed or permitted by a Consultant.
- Support transcription and production from digital dictation, audio‑tape, or shorthand, handling complaint responses, referral letters, GPS, and urgent x‑ray letters.
- Perform various other duties as required to support the teams.
Qualifications
- Recognised educational standards: GCSE ‘O’ Level Grade A – C, 4 ‑ 9 or equivalent / similar level alternative qualifications in English Language and Maths.
- ECLD/CLAIT or equivalent / similar alternative qualifications or IT experience.
- Substantial experience with EMIS, Cerner and other department/trust systems.
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office, especially Excel, Word and Outlook.
- Experience with referral booking.
- Ability to collate large data sets from varied sources and produce coherent reports.
- Able to travel between ELHT sites.
- Willingness to learn new systems and processes.
- Experience in team leader/management roles.
- Excellent organisational, communication and keyboard skills; able to work independently and as part of a team.
- Computer literate with a good understanding of Word, Excel and Outlook.
Desirable
- Awareness of Health & Safety in office environment.
- Knowledge of Data Protection and Caldicott guidelines.
- RSA III typing qualification.
- Awareness of Equal Opportunity issues.
