Are you looking for a rewarding role within a SEND school that will grow your skills and transform the lives of others? Axcis Education is recruiting for full‑time and part‑time teaching assistants to support students aged 11‑16 with additional needs at a special needs secondary school in Preston.

Schedule & Pay

Work 8:30 am – 3:30 pm, Monday – Friday. Pay rates begin at £14.30 per hour and may increase depending on experience. Transport links are offered from Preston city centre and surrounding areas, and free parking is provided on site.

Responsibilities

  • Work with pupils in a range of lessons and support the teacher in delivering engaging activities.
  • Assist with the behaviour management of students who may have autism, challenging behaviour and social, emotional and mental health needs.
  • Maintain a supportive and inclusive classroom environment.

Qualifications

  • Brilliant communication skills, empathy and patience.
  • An Enhanced DBS check on the update service (or willingness to obtain one).
  • At least 6 months of relevant experience or a relevant qualification.
  • A genuine desire to make a difference to young people’s lives.
  • Backgrounds such as care, coaching, youth work and support work are encouraged.
