Advanced Apprenticeships (L2 or L3) in Engineering

Location: Braintree, Essex

Contract: Full Time

We are looking for candidates with a keen interest in engineering, automation and robotics to join our manufacturing site in Braintree. Our Engineering Apprenticeship will provide full on‑the‑job training on site and day‑release at Colchester Institute, leading to nationally recognised qualifications.

4 GCSE passes at grade 4 (C) or above (or equivalent), including Maths and Science.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Complete a programme of training within our Production departments
• Practice and become skilled in the application of a wide range of machine tools including, but not limited to, conventional and CNC turning and milling & grinding
• Fitting and assembly skills including the use of hand tools
• Measurement and inspection techniques using a variety of metrology equipment
• Training in the use of Computer Aided Design (CAD) using proprietary software packages
• Carrying out tasks and duties as directed by the Departmental Technical Manager / Supervisor

Skills

• keen interest in an engineering discipline(s)
• IT literate with knowledge of Microsoft Office and Outlook
• Ability to work efficiently and accurately both independently and as part of a team
• Highly motivated and organised
• Aptitude for practical science or engineering skills
• Excellent communication skills

Hours Of Work

Monday – Thursday: 7:30 am – 4:00 pm

Friday: 7:30 am – 3:00 pm

39 hours per week
