TSR Legal is delighted to be working in partnership with a well‑established and highly regarded Cardiff law firm in their search for a Private Client Legal Assistant to join their growing team.

This is an excellent opportunity for an organised and personable individual looking to develop a long‑term career within private client law. The firm is open to candidates with experience from other legal disciplines or professional services backgrounds and offers a supportive environment with ongoing training and development.

The Role

You will work closely with experienced fee earners, supporting on a varied private client caseload involving wills, probate, estate administration, and powers of attorney matters. This is a fantastic opportunity to gain exposure to high‑quality work while building your knowledge and experience within a respected private client team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assisting with the preparation and drafting of Wills, Lasting Powers of Attorney, and related documentation
  • Supporting probate applications and estate administration matters
  • Liaising with clients, beneficiaries, executors, and third parties in a professional and empathetic manner
  • Preparing correspondence, client care documentation, and legal forms
  • Collating financial and estate information, including inheritance tax documentation
  • Liaising with HMRC, banks, insurers, and the Probate Registry
  • Maintaining accurate and compliant files using the firm’s case management system
  • Providing administrative and organisational support to fee earners
  • Keeping up to date with relevant legislation and best practice

About You

  • Previous experience within a legal or professional services environment is essential
  • Experience within private client law is advantageous but not essential
  • Candidates from other legal disciplines will be considered
  • Excellent organisational skills and strong attention to detail
  • Professional, compassionate, and client‑focused approach
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to manage workload effectively and work collaboratively within a team
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and case management systems
  • Keen to learn and develop within private client law
