For the Role
As a Sales Assistant you’ll be supporting your store team with driving sales performance and the day‑day running of your store. You’ll deliver exceptional customer service and experience to optimise KPI performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive store performance by maximising sales opportunities. Support your team on meeting and exceeding targets through focusing on KPI delivery
- Deliver exceptional market‑leading customer service to drive business growth through customer loyalty & repeat purchases
- Provide a VIP concierge service, actively contacting customers with updates on products and tastings
- Sell the story, not the discount. Demonstrate and share your passion for product with customers through in‑depth knowledge of our range
- Take ownership of wine knowledge, constantly learning to support your WSET qualification and confidence in selling
- Take accountability and pride for the physical appearance and maintenance of your store both internally & externally
- Involve in all operational tasks required for day‑day running of a Majestic Wine store – from delivering wine to customers, merchandising stock deliveries and contacting customers to drive sales opportunities
- Continuously identify opportunities to improve the operational running of the store, feeding ideas back to your wider team so you can implement solutions together
- Ensure compliance, safety & legal by following internal policies, processes and completing mandatory training
- Be an example of Majestic’s Ways of Working and a source of support for junior team members, feeding back to your Store Manager as appropriate
- As a key holder, understand opening and closing compliance and be confident to operate the store without your management team
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Excellent time‑management, delegation and problem‑solving skills
- Demonstrate ability to deliver exceptional customer experience & service to every single customer
- Self‑motivated, able to thrive when working alone and as part of a team
- A can‑do attitude with a passion to see problems through to solutions
- Adaptable and resilient to meet the ever‑changing demands of our business
- Excellent communication and time‑management skills
- Wine knowledge beneficial but passion to learn more essential to pass Level 2 WSET wine qualifications
- Hold a full UK, manual transmission driving licence for at least 12 months with no more than 6 penalty points

- Driving is a key part of this position – being comfortable driving one of our company vans is essential. We will not accept candidates without a full UK manual driving licence (held for at least 12 months)
