EdStaff are currently supporting a Wigan secondary school to recruit a Teacher of boys PE for a role starting in September 2026. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced educator looking for a new opportunity or an ECT keen to begin their education career in a dedicated and innovative department.
The right candidate should have high expectations of pupils and be committed to inspiring and motivating all learners within the subject. You should have a genuine passion for encouraging participation in sports and be able to build positive relationships with pupils and the wider school community.
As a PE teacher, you will deliver engaging and inclusive physical education lessons across KS3 and 4.
This temporary teaching position is ideal for educators seeking a better work-life balance or looking to gain experience in a dynamic school setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver the national curriculum at both KS3 and 4
- Adapt teaching to support pupils with SEND
- Promote positive behaviour
- Assist with department sport events as required
- Adhere to school policies and procedures
Essential Requirements
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
- Right to work in the UK
- Experience working within a UK Secondary School setting
- Strong classroom and behaviour management skills
- Ability to deliver age-appropriate and engaging lessons in line with the national curriculum
- Reliable and punctual with a professional attitude
- Enhanced DBS or willing xlqdzyr to obtain one
