Grade: SE98 | Salary: £58,640 | Contract: Permanent | Location: Various locations across the network | Closing date: Wednesday 3rd June @ 23:59hrs.

Overview

As a Stores Operative, you will support new and ongoing projects across a range of store locations. You will ensure correct materials are available, managed effectively, and supplied on time to support successful project delivery. The role includes efficient and safe store running, reliable materials service, and daily operational support within existing warehouses.

Key Accountabilities

  • Ensure all relevant Health and Safety requirements are adhered to, including environmental issues.
  • Provide efficient service to front line customers and liaise with various teams for effective goods receiving.
  • Carry out regular stock audits to support stock accuracy targets.
  • Liaise with the Warehouse Manager on material requirements/shortages as they arise.
  • Reduce waste involved in ‘picking’ times by optimising procedures and store layout.
  • Assist in store layout and racking changes to improve overall store efficiency.
  • Assist in maintenance of accurate warehouse document control to satisfy audit criteria.
  • Embrace new technology to further improve stock control.

Skills

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to deal with internal and external requests.
  • Accurate numeracy and PC skills, including basic Microsoft Word and Excel. SAP knowledge training will be given (Essential).
  • Take and follow instructions within the warehouse environment.
  • Commitment to continuous improvement of the customer experience.
  • Business focused with a proactive can‑do approach.

Knowledge

  • Proven ability to communicate with people at all levels, including internal and external stakeholders.
  • Fork Lift Truck operating license.
  • Knowledge of warehouse procedures (Essential).
  • UK Driving License.

Experience

  • Previous warehouse experience (Essential).
  • Previous SAP experience or other stock control systems experience (Essential).
  • Experience operating a Forklift truck (Essential).
