The Governors of Newlands School are seeking to appoint a teaching assistant + (Level 1+) who:

  • Is proactive and vigilant in their approach to safeguarding pupils
  • Is experienced in working within a team to ensure the best outcomes for children
  • Has the personal and social skills to communicate clearly and sensitively, establishing and sustaining good relationships with parents, pupils and other staff
  • Is an excellent and reflective classroom practitioner
  • Is caring, committed and highly motivated
  • Has high expectations of all pupils’ achievement and behaviour
  • Has the knowledge, enthusiasm and ability to inspire and motivate children to learn
  • Has a secure understanding of play and is able to support this at all levels
  • Has a warm and friendly personality

The successful applicant will have the ability to work with children with a range of needs, including profound and complex needs, across the key stages and the curriculum.

Appointment to this post is subject to an enhanced Disclosure and Barring and background check.

The ability to converse at ease with customers and service users and provide advice in accurate spoken English is an essential requirement of this post.
