Permanent contract, 37 hours per week, 38 weeks per year – term time only. The role includes evenings and weekends on a rota basis. Salary is full time equivalent. Interview date: 11th of June. As Academy Salon Manager at Bath College you will run our commercial salons professionally – and to the highest standards. You will manage daily operations in our Hair & Beauty Academy guaranteeing an exceptional experience for students and clients. Your work will create a work‑like setting that nurtures quality teaching, learning and future talent.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee all operational aspects of the Hair & Beauty Academy, including client bookings, staffing of commercial sessions, stock control and maintenance of equipment and resources.
- Work closely with curriculum staff to ensure the Academy supports high‑quality teaching, learning, assessment and the delivery of realistic industry practice.
- Provide line management, supervision and guidance to technicians, reception staff and students working within the Academy environment.
- Lead on health, safety, hygiene and safeguarding standards within the commercial salons, ensuring full compliance with college policies and industry regulations.
Qualifications and Skills
- Management experience in a busy salon or similar environment.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and guide others.
- Exceptional communication, organisation and IT skills.
- Confidence working independently while also contributing to a team.
- A Level 3 qualification in Beauty and/or Hair, plus managerial experience or equivalent qualifications.
