Position

Two part‑time positions (16 hours and 22.5 hours) have arisen for a motivated and enthusiastic person to work for the Walk in Centre team across the four Liverpool sites: City Walk In, Smithdown Walk In, Garston UTC and Old Swan UTC. The role is customer focused and provides a comprehensive service. Communication and organisational skills are essential. The service is open daily from 8 am to 8 pm, including Bank Holidays (Xmas Day) and weekends, with shifts allocated according to service needs. The post holder will be required to cover sickness and absence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide reception and administrative duties to ensure the smooth day‑to‑day running of the work environment.
  • Work with colleagues to establish and maintain administrative procedures that promote patient satisfaction, respecting the confidential nature of information relating to the Trust, its staff and patients.
  • Participate in training and development programmes, both internal and external.
  • Ensure the delivery of the quality strategy within the designated area, incorporating the establishment of systems and processes.
  • Receive and direct patients and visitors on arrival at the centre, providing reception services for patients, staff, public, internal and external customers and organisations, ensuring sensitivity when dealing with distressing situations.
  • Answer telephone calls using the switchboard system, receive and process incoming and outgoing telephone calls, take messages and respond appropriately to maintain effective communication channels.
  • Sort and distribute mail to all departments.
  • Manage and maintain stock levels and ordering supplies.
  • Accurately record new and follow‑up attendances on the electronic appointment system, updating and revising information where necessary.
  • Assist with the collection of data and statistics to produce standardised computer‑generated reports and/or statistical information for managers as required.
  • Maintain filing systems and other records, ensuring they are up to date and accurate, and implement changes to systems and procedures as directed.
  • Participate in meetings as required.
  • Maintain a professional approach to work, ensuring confidentiality throughout.
  • Generally monitor security within the building, ensuring reception and waiting areas are kept clean, tidy and safe.
  • Report and record sickness, absences and any incidents or accidents in accordance with Trust Policy.
  • Staff may be required to work from other bases within the organisation.

Qualifications

Applicants must have excellent interpersonal skills, be able to organise and prioritise their work schedule, work on their own initiative, have an excellent telephone manner and respect confidentiality. Previous experience is desirable. Candidates must be willing to work across all sites as required.
