Music Tutors – String & SEND – Solihull Music

Band D – £32,597 to £37,280 per annum, pro rata (pay award pending). Term time only.

Part Time – Fixed Term contract until July 2027

Solihull Music is seeking experienced and inclusive Music Tutors to deliver face to face, high quality lessons across the borough in Solihull education settings.

We are looking for String and SEND Music Tutors to join our team. Whether you have experience teaching small groups or one‑to‑one lessons, we currently have vacancies at Band D level, available on a fixed term contract.

We are also looking to offer developmental opportunities for tutors who wish to expand their skills in areas such as Whole Class, Ensembles or SEND.

Working for our unique and friendly service you will teach beginners as well as the more experienced players within schools and in the evening. There are also opportunities to be involved with extra‑curricular groups, holiday clubs and to teach whole class groups.

As one of our Music Tutors, you will provide inspirational, wide‑ranging music experiences supporting pathways for all children and young people in Solihull to reach their full musical potential.

Responsibilities & Qualifications

  • Experience in teaching Violin, Viola, Cello, and SEND
  • A Level Music or Music Grade 8 (or equivalent) or will be able to demonstrate an equivalent level of knowledge, skills and ability gained through extended experience
  • Experience working with small groups as well as 1:1 tutoring within a school environment
  • The ability to perform and inspire on at least one principal instrument to a high standard
  • An ability to motivate and inspire through your own musical ability.

This post will require an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring check for regulated activity with children.
