About the Role

We are recruiting an experienced Sheet Metal Worker / Fabricator for a well-established engineering client based in Bedford. This is a hands‑on role suited to someone with strong fabrication skills and experience working with a variety of sheet metal materials.

Key Responsibilities

• Fabrication of sheet metal components to engineering drawings
• Cutting, folding, bending, and forming metal using press brakes and hand tools
• Assembly of fabricated parts to specification
• Ensuring high standards of quality and workmanship
• Working safely and maintaining a clean, organised workspace

Skills & Experience Required

• Proven experience in sheet metal fabrication
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
• Experience using press brakes, guillotines, folder machines, and hand tools
• Knowledge of working with materials such as mild steel, stainless steel, and aluminium
• Strong attention to detail and quality
• Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently or as part of a team

Desirable (but not essential)

• Welding experience (MIG/TIG)
• Apprenticeship or formal engineering qualification
• Experience working in a factory or workshop environment
