Role and Responsibilities
- Setting and operating CNC milling and turning machines
- Working to tight tolerances on precision-engineered components
- Editing CNC programmes using Heidenhain, Siemens, or Haas controls
- Reading and interpreting engineering drawings
- Completing inspections using Renishaw probes and hand measuring equipment
- Carrying out quality checks to maintain high engineering standards
- Supporting production deadlines and manufacturing targets
- Completing production paperwork and maintaining traceability
- Carrying out basic machine maintenance and safety checks
- Working in line with company quality procedures and MOD standards
Essential Requirements
- Apprentice trained or equivalent engineering background
- CNC milling and turning experience
- Experience using Heidenhain iTNC 640 and/or Haas G-code controls
- Ability to manufacture components from engineering drawings
- Experience working to tight tolerances
- Experience machining carbon steel and stainless steel
- Strong attention to detail and quality standards
Desirable Experience
- CNC programming experience – is a bonus
- Experience with SolidWorks and SolidCAM
- Experience machining exotic materials
- Precision engineering or defence sector background
