Are you passionate about Design and Technology (DT) and Information Technology (IT) and committed to inspiring students? St Thomas More Language College is seeking a permanent Teacher of DT and IT to join our community of dedicated educators from 1 September 2026. We welcome both experienced teachers and Early Career Teachers for this role, offering the opportunity to teach a diverse range of abilities within a school renowned for its strong academic outcomes and deeply rooted Catholic values.

Key Responsibilities

As a Teacher of DT and IT, you will:

  • Deliver engaging lessons, fostering a love for the subject and high standards of attainment
  • Contribute to curriculum development, shaping schemes of work and resources to ensure relevance and depth in line with national standards
  • Participate in departmental activities, including field trips and enrichment programmes, to support a well-rounded learning experience
  • Track and support pupil progress, providing feedback and reporting to parents to ensure each student achieves their potential
  • Act as a Form Tutor promoting positive behaviour and instilling self-discipline

What We Are Looking For

Our ideal candidate:

  • Holds a good honours degree in DT, IT or a related discipline, along with Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Is committed to personal development
  • Brings excellent knowledge of the subject, curriculum requirements and exam specifications
  • Possesses strong organisational skills, a proactive approach to lesson planning and effective classroom management skills
  • The ability and interest to teach some Art would be an advantage.
