Location: Willoughby on the Wolds
Job Description:

Scale 1 – £24,796 per annum (pro rata) Actual salary – £14,743.57

Part-time, 22 hours per week, all year round

South Wolds is a high-attaining, semi-rural popular school located in the village of Keyworth in Nottinghamshire, only 6 miles from West Bridgford. We are a founding partner of the East Midlands Education Trust, committed to providing a first‑class education for all our students.

Do you like variety, young people and working as part of a fantastic team? If the answer is yes, this role might be for you.

We are seeking a Housekeeper/Catering Assistant. This dual roll works with both the general housekeeping and catering teams.

The position is part‑time, 22 hours per week. Hours of work – Term time: Monday to Thursday 12:15 pm to 4:45 pm and Friday 12:15 pm to 4:00 pm. School holidays: Monday to Thursday 8:00 am to 12:30 pm and Friday 8:00 am to 12:00 pm.

Previous experience in a school environment is not essential, but a commitment to high standards of hygiene and cleanliness is required. Experience in catering, housekeeping or general cleaning would be an advantage, but is not necessary.

You will need to demonstrate a commitment to working in a safe manner and be willing to undergo an enhanced DBS check. The role involves a lot of walking, laying out and putting away furniture – you must be physically able to meet those requirements.

Finally, you must be a good communicator, like working around young people and always willing to help your team when unexpected situations arise.

We will train you in the specific aspects of the job; you just need a willingness to learn, a good sense of humour and a friendly and approachable manner.

Full compliance with safeguarding protocols is required. All staff must share the Trust’s commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people. A full enhanced DBS check, plus eligibility to work in the UK, is mandatory.

We welcome applications regardless of age, gender, ethnicity or religion.

Closing date for receipt of applications: 9:00 am on Friday 5 June 2026

Interviews will be held shortly afterwards.
