Are you someone who can motivate others and support people to work towards their goals? Being a Lead Support Worker is a rewarding and key role, helping older adults who have had an illness or injury to regain their independence at home.
The JCR team in Lewes are looking for a Lead Support Worker for an 18 month secondment. Please ensure you have the agreement of your line manager if you wish to apply for this secondment .
Your role will be varied and will include visiting people in their own homes, teaching them new skills to help them regain independence, and setting goals for people and Support Workers to work towards. The progress of these goals will be reviewed weekly. Working alongside other professionals, you will work closely with people to help them set the goals that will enable them to regain the skills and confidence they need to manage their everyday tasks.
Qualifications
- Strong communication skills
- Core values, ethics and ability to empathise
- Ability to work closely with health and social care professionals, including therapists within the JCR team
- Ability to support people with specific activities, for example gait education and exercises
- Driving licence and access to a car
- Shift work between 7am and 10pm, including weekends and bank holidays
