Overview

Respond are seeking skilled and reliable HGV Class 1 Drivers and Tramper drivers to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for transporting goods across various locations, ensuring timely and safe delivery.

Trunking work, 1-2 drops per day and collection.

6AM Start Mondays at depot.

This is general haulage, you will be required to strap loads. You will be operating a Curtain Sider lorry.

If you’re interested in the tramping, you will sleep in the lorry all week – Monday to Friday.

EXTRA: £25.00 PER NIGHT AWAY

£10.00 MEAL ALLOWANCE PER DAY

Responsibilities

• Operate HGV Class 1 vehicles, for long-distance transportation of goods.
• Conduct pre-journey vehicle checks to ensure compliance with road safety regulations.
• Maintain accurate delivery records and complete necessary paperwork as required.
• Plan routes effectively to optimise delivery times while considering traffic and weather conditions.
• Communicate effectively with dispatchers and other team members regarding delivery schedules and any potential issues.
• Adhere to driving regulations and company policies at all times.

Requirements

• Valid HGV Class 1 driving licence with no more than 6 points or endorsements (No TT99, no DR10, no IN10 allowed).
• Proven experience in commercial driving in a class 1 arctic.
• Strong understanding of road safety regulations and best practices in delivery driving.
• Excellent time management skills and the ability to work independently.
• Good communication skills for effective interaction with team members and clients.
• Ability to handle physical tasks associated with loading and unloading goods.

Experience

• HGV Class 1: 1 year (required)

Licence/Certification

• Licence with no more than 6pts or endorsements (required)

Pay

Excellent pay rate: £20.17 – £21.29 (rolled-up holiday pay)
