Legal and Practical Requirements
To work in the United Kingdom, an individual must demonstrate that they have the relevant permission to work in the country. This permission is granted by the UK Visa and Immigration Service. The role also requires the ability to comply with EU procurement rules, standing financial instructions and to ensure governance of spend while minimising risk.
Working Hours
As of 1/4/26, the full‑time Agenda for Change working week will be reduced from 37 to 36 hours per week. Part‑time hours will be reduced pro‑rata. There will be a corresponding increase in hourly rate so that pay will not be affected.
Responsibility Overview
- Manage the category team and utilise procurement journey and procurement tools across the commodity area to oversee tendering, quotations, catalogue management workflow and supplier management.
- Engage with stakeholders to understand their needs, develop a category workplan and deliver best value, savings and governance of spend.
- Provide procurement advice to stakeholders to ensure compliance with EU procurement rules and standing financial instructions.
- Ensure governance of spend and minimise risk.
