Teaching Assistant – Special Needs Support

Axcis Education is recruiting confident and motivated Teaching Assistants to support pupils with additional needs in a large, mainstream secondary school in Knowsley. Responsibilities
- Provide 1:1 and small group support tailored to individual needs
- Support pupils with SEMH, ASD, and ADHD, promoting positive behaviour and emotional regulation
- Assist with the KS3 curriculum, encouraging engagement and progress
- Implement effective behaviour management strategies to maintain a structured learning environment
- Build strong, trusting relationships that promote confidence, independence, and resilience
Qualifications
We’d love to hear from you if you:
- Have experience supporting young people with SEMH, ASD, or ADHD
- Bring a calm, patient, and empathetic approach to behaviour and learning support
- Can act as a positive role model, inspiring pupils to achieve their potential
- Are committed to supporting personal, social, and emotional development
Requirements
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
- Previous experience in a school, education, or care setting
- Strong communication and behaviour management skills
- A passion for creating a safe, inclusive, and engaging learning environment
