Position: Assistant Youth Support Worker (Part‑time, 6 hours per week, evening 6:30–9:30pm)
Location: Fylde & Wyre districts, North Lancashire
Salary: £24,786 – £25,155 per annum – pro‑rata (full‑time equivalent)
Employment: Permanent, part‑time – pro‑rata
Sponsorship: Not open to international sponsorship
Recruitment: Targeted Youth Support team, Children and Family Wellbeing Service, Lancashire County Council
Responsibilities
- Deliver youth work opportunities in centres, partner buildings and streets to 12–19 year olds (up to 25) with vulnerabilities.
- Initiate and develop relationships with young people and support them to broaden their horizons.
- Design and implement youth work responses under the four cornerstones: equality, participation, education and empowerment.
- Work within the Youth Offer and collaborate with other staff, volunteers and external partners.
- Support the delivery of core youth work, detached/outreach, SEND, safe‑spaces and targeted youth clubs.
- Participate in district youth councils and larger regional and national youth initiatives.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Level 2 Youth Work qualification (or commitment to attain it – support will be provided).
- Good understanding of equality, diversity and safeguarding principles.
- Strong communication and organisational skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Enhanced DBS check (mandatory).
