About the Role
Job Title: Support Worker / Childcare Worker – Applewood Lodge, Ivetsey Road, Wheaton Aston, Stafford, ST19 9QW
Salary: £27,766.15 per annum (FTE, pro rata)
Hours: 37.5 hrs per week (full‑time, part‑time, days or nights available)
Open Day: 4th June 2026 – 10:00 am to 3:00 pm (registration via CV or walk‑in during that time)
Responsibilities
- Build rapport and communicate effectively with children and young people, overcoming any communication barriers.
- Assist with daily living tasks, including mealtimes, personal care, and support with activities and hobbies.
- Ensure safety and continuity by promptly reporting any emerging issues to the on‑shift Team Leader or management.
- Accurately document and report all work activities.
- Work shift patterns that may include alternate weekends and a rotating 2‑week rota.
Qualifications & Experience
- Aged 21 years or over.
- Minimum 9 months’ experience in childcare, ideally with mental health and/or trauma‑informed care.
- NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in Childcare, or willing to work toward Level 3 Diploma in Residential Child Care.
- Driving licence and driving ability is desirable.
- Resident in the UK for at least 3 years.
- Effective communicator across all levels.
