Loading Shovel Operative
FM Conway is looking to recruit an experienced Loading Shovel Operative to join the Aggregate and Asphalt division based in Erith. As a Loading Shovel Operative you will be involved in a range of tasks relating to the manufacture of asphalt, including production, dispatch and mobile plant operation. This is a permanent, full‑time position, working a 4 on 4 off shift which covers days and nights.
Responsibilities
- Operate the loading shovel and mobile plant equipment
- Assist with the production of asphalt by loading materials into the asphalt plant
- Carry out daily checks and basic maintenance on all mobile plant as required, reporting any defects accurately and in a timely manner
- Operate other items of mobile plant, such as a telehandler and MEWP
- Operate the weighbridge, control dispatching of orders and liaise with the commercial team
- Carry out daily housekeeping duties as required
- Follow site health and safety procedures
Qualifications
To be considered for this role you must hold a full UK driving licence and a valid loading shovel licence. You should have a demonstrable understanding of health and safety legislation and ideally have worked in an asphalt or similar environment.
