Junior Buyer

Overview

Junior Buyer – Location: Bedford. Job Type: Full Time (Permanent). Salary: £20,000 – £24,000 (Entry Level). Hours: Monday – Friday, 7:30am – 5:00pm. Industry: Construction / Procurement.

Key Responsibilities

• Procure construction materials and related services
• Obtain and compare supplier quotations
• Negotiate costs and terms with suppliers
• Identify and select appropriate suppliers
• Build and maintain strong supplier relationships
• Plan and coordinate deliveries to site
• Process purchase orders and maintain accurate records
• Communicate effectively with internal teams and suppliers
• Support the wider procurement team with administrative tasks

• Confident and willing to develop negotiation skills
• Analytical mindset with problem‑solving ability
• Highly organised with strong attention to detail
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Comfortable in a fast‑paced environment

• A strong interest in developing a career in procurement or buying
