Salary £13.45 per hour.
Permanent, variable hours; part‑time, 16.25 hours per week; term time; schools in Hyndburn and Haslingden.

Peripatetic Driving Position – Schools in Hyndburn and Haslingden
Lancashire County Council provides catering services to over 500 schools across Lancashire, serving over 60,000 school meals per day. We are looking for committed individuals to join the service.
You will work as part of a team in and around Hyndburn and Burnley, providing high‑quality, healthy, balanced meals for school children. This position covers various schools within Lancashire and is contracted to a minimum of 16.25 hours per week, pro‑rata.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare the dining area for service, including moving and setting up furniture and putting away.
- Assist in the preparation, cooking and serving of food and beverages.
- Clean all equipment and catering areas.
- Run units in the absence of a UCS.
What we are looking for
- Ability to work as part of a team.
- Ability to work under pressure and use own initiative.
- Good customer care skills.
- Previous catering and food preparation experience (essential).
- Running various kitchens in the absence of the unit manager.
Working Hours / Days
- Monday to Friday.
- Term time only.
- Essential car user – must have a clean license and transport.
- Minimum 16.25 hours per week; hours are variable depending on school meal uptake and service needs.
