Volunteer Opportunity: Support Carer Group Drop-Ins with Lifeworks North Staffs
About the RoleLifeworks North Staffs is looking for passionate volunteers aged 18+ to assist with and eventually run our Carer Group Drop-Ins. These sessions provide carers with a safe space to share experiences, offer mutual support, and connect with others facing similar challenges.
What the role involves:
- Assisting the current facilitator of Carer Groups, with the aim of leading sessions in the future.
- Engaging with carers and supporting group discussions.
Requirements:
- Experience of being or working in a caring role (as a parent or for someone else). This does not need to be related to Autism.
When and Where:
- Groups run on the first and second Wednesdays of each month at Northwood and Middleport.
- Each session lasts approximately 2 hours.
- We may add more sessions in other locations and on other days in the future.
Expenses:Reasonable travel and role-related expenses will be reimbursed.
About Lifeworks North Staffs
We are a charity supporting marginalised people aged 14+ in North Staffordshire with Autism, ADHD, Dyspraxia, Tourette’s Syndrome (most with poor mental health) and their carers. Our services include advocacy, one-to-one appointments, life coaching, client activities, drop‑ins, carer groups, and befriending. Established in 2006, we now support over 900 clients and 330 carers.
