About the Role
Based at our Bicton campus, the post of Specialist Teacher will form a key part of the English and Mathematics teaching team who will ensure all learners are provided with the highest quality of education to maximise their potential with uncompromising ambition for their overall success.
The post holder will create an inspirational and innovative curriculum which supports learners reaching their full potential, achieving their Functional Skills and GCSE Maths exams and exiting college equipped with valuable real-world skills. They will take responsibility for their own discrete group(s) of learners whilst on their Functional Skills or GCSE course.
Alongside regular teaching responsibilities, this role requires delivering and supporting additional maths sessions in curriculum learners across the Group, either in person or remotely.
Skills & Experience
The ideal candidate will have a Level 4/5 subject specialism in Maths or a relevant degree with Level 3 Maths, along with full teaching qualifications (PGCE, DET, or Cert Ed). You should have experience delivering high-quality Maths education to 14-19-year-olds, with a strong track record of achievement and a commitment to developing engaging course materials that equip learners with real-world skills.
Excellent people skills, flexibility to work across sites, and the ability to inspire and challenge students are essential. Experience in curriculum development, assessment, and working to external examination specifications is highly desirable. A Maths degree and experience teaching 16-19 or GCSE-level students would be an advantage.
