Senior Care Assistant (Nights)

Argyle Park Care Home, Southport.

Three nights a week, 33hourcontract- 12hour shifts 8pm- 8am on a rota basis with every other weekend availability requited.

About Argyle Park

Argyle Park caters for up to 31residents. The home specialises in dementia guaranteeing excellent residential care, and comfort from a team who are genuinely passionate about their care standards and their residents.

As the Senior Care Assistant, you will be tasked with managing the care team within the Home and ensuring that care staff are adhering to CQC guidelines whilst providing exceptional levels of care to residents. You will promote and deliver high standards of care and supervise and support less experienced staff to enable them to fully contribute to the care provided within the Home.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Demonstrate compassion, empathy and a person-centred approach to caring for older people.
  • Self-motivated, resilient and well-organised
  • Able to work well under pressure and flexible to meet the needs of the residents and the Home.
  • Provide assistance, personal care, activities and companionship to residents
  • Be alert to residents’ needs, health and wellbeingRespect the residents’ dignity and privacy
  • Work with residents and their families to deliver tailored care to each individual
  • Assist with mealtimes and safe moving
  • Maintain accurate records for each resident

Skills and Experience:

  • Excellent communication and written skills.
  • Committed to providing a high standard of care, promoting dignity and respect.
  • Previous experience working within an elderly care setting.
  • Team player but able to work on your own initiative.
  • Dependable, able to work well under pressure and flexible to meet the needs of the Home.
  • Previous supervisory experience within a care/nursing home setting and experience of working with the elderly.
  • A minimum of a NVQ level 2 in health & social care along with a dedicated passion for providing exceptional care.
