Location: Monkton, South Ayrshire

Employer: Personal employer (Monkton)

Hours: 8 hours per month (possible additional hours).

Pay: £13.45 per hour.

Contract ends: 15/04/2026.

About the Role

Provide one‑to‑one support to a young man with neurodiversity and learning disabilities. The role involves helping him engage in activities, delivering routine and structure, offering clear communication, and encouraging independence while also giving his mother valuable respite.

• Assist in daily activities and leisure pursuits such as swimming, cinema, bowling, coffee outings, parks and beaches.
• Support his communication needs, including clear guidance and advance notice of plans.
• Maintain a structured routine and ensure clarity of expectations.
• Encourage independence and positive experiences.
• Ensure safety and confidence while in community settings.

About You

You are calm, patient, dependable, and have a good understanding of neurodiversity or are willing to learn. You communicate clearly, are organised, can plan and give advance notice of activities, and are consistent and respectful of the young man’s preferences.

Key Skills and Qualities

• Comfortable working with routine‑oriented individuals, providing reassurance when plans change.
• Understanding of sensory needs and communication differences.
• Adaptable approach to suit individual requirements.
• Knowledge of regulation and communication strategies beneficial to the young man.
