Position: Electromechanic | Location: Edinburgh | Hiring Manager: Plant Engineer | Training Schedule: 1st Shift – Monday through Friday 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM (approximately 3 months) | Ongoing Schedule: Rotating 12‑hour shifts (must be willing to work days and/or nights) | Pay Rate: $30.09 – $34.63/hour (based on experience)
The Electromechanic plays a critical role in maintaining and improving plant equipment reliability and performance. This position requires strong hands‑on technical expertise, troubleshooting ability, and a proactive mindset to support continuous improvement initiatives across the facility. What You’ll Be Doing
- Hands‑On Equipment Mastery: Install and maintain electrical components for equipment including gas mixers, burners, de‑ionized water units, air compressors, plant air circulation systems, heating and cooling units, ultrasonic cleaners, waxers, and plant lighting.
- Troubleshoot and Repair Electromechanical Systems: Diagnose, repair, and maintain electromechanical systems involving PLCs, sensors, actuators, motors, drives, and mechanical assemblies.
- Diagnostics & Advanced Problem‑Solving: Diagnose complex electrical and mechanical issues using schematics, mechanical drawings, diagnostic tools, and technical expertise. Program and modify PLC logic to improve equipment performance and support process improvements. Identify inefficiencies and propose solutions to support continuous improvement initiatives.
- Maintenance & Reliability Leadership: Perform preventive and predictive maintenance to maximize equipment uptime and lifespan. Assist with new equipment installations, upgrades, and commissioning activities.
- Safety, Communication & Teamwork: Promote and maintain safe working conditions while following all safety guidelines. Work closely with Production, Engineering, and Maintenance teams to support operations. Accurately document completed work and communicate effectively across departments.

Education & Experience
- Technical training typically gained through an Associate degree or equivalent hands‑on experience in electromechanical maintenance.
- 2+ years of experience working with electromechanical equipment in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
Technical Strengths
- Experience troubleshooting and programming PLCs (Rockwell Automation Allen‑Bradley and Siemens preferred).
- Experience with HMI systems and industrial electrical networking.
- Hands‑on knowledge of AC/DC motors, high‑voltage equipment, drives, and servo systems.
- Experience working with pneumatic and hydraulic systems.
- Ability to read and interpret wiring diagrams, schematics, and mechanical drawings.
- Comfortable using electrical test equipment, multimeters, and mechanical tools.
- Familiarity with NEC standards and industrial safety processes including lockout/tagout, confined space, and hazardous materials.
- Strong diagnostic and problem‑solving skills using electrical and mechanical logic.
- Proactive, team‑oriented mindset with strong communication and reliability.
