We are seeking to appoint two enthusiastic estatesoperatives toassistthe team with the generalcondition, maintenance, and upkeep of all the school’sinfrastructure, which includes the King’s College Schoolbuildings and grounds, frommid Julyto the end ofAugust 2026.

Reporting to: Site Manager

Main duties and responsibilities:

• upkeep of hard surfaces, footpaths, and roadways,using the road sweeper and jet wash

• undertaking minor repair tasks, particularly relatedto signs, fixtures, and fittings

• keeping the gardens and footpaths clear and freefrom litter

• managing and disposal of waste

• accessing the site maintenance ticketing system topick up tasks

•general supportfor events and activities

•assisting

– external contractors withappropriate tasks

– with routine maintenance of the schoolminibuses

– with the maintenance of carpets and furniture

– with room changes and clearing rooms

– with fire emergencies by carrying out dutiesas set out in the school’s policies

– emergency situations e.g. school closures dueto adverse weather conditions

– seasonal work including gritting and snowclearance

– other departments within the Estates team

• undertaking general duties and dealing with estatesissues as directed by the site manager

•maintaininggardens and lawns as instructed

Person Specification

Theideal candidates will:

• be co-operative and approachable individualswho work effectively both as part of a team andindependently

• be able to use their initiative and takeresponsibility for tasks with minimal supervision

• be organised and capable of working efficiently todeadlines

• be flexible and willing to undertake a wide rangeof duties asrequired

• have a logical approach to solving problems

Terms and Conditions

Fixed-term contract

• Working hours – 37.5 hours per week, 8.30am -4.30pm (with half an hour for lunch)

• Salary – £14.80 per hour
