This year, we’re recruiting for an apprentice to join our Finance team at Riverside. You’ll gain training with one of the top training providers to provide tailored training for your apprenticeship. You’ll spend time studying for industry‑recognised qualifications while gaining valuable experience to start your career in the world of Finance.
Finance Apprenticeship, based at Riverside
A fifteen‑month Level 2 Accounts/Finance Assistant apprenticeship, based at Riverside Energy from Waste facility in Belvedere, south‑east London. Riverside has recently undergone a massive period of growth, with Riverside 2 – our brand new Energy from Waste facility – due to open in the next few months alongside our existing Riverside 1 plant.
You’ll work in our Finance team, supporting the team in the Accounts Payable functions while gaining an understanding of the Finance operation across Cory.
This apprenticeship pays a great salary of £18,000 in the first year, which increases as you become more skilled and qualified. Your manager will hold regular reviews with you to make sure you’re on track and you’ll also be supported by the Apprenticeship Programme Manager to feel a part of the wider Cory Apprentice Academy.
Training Delivery
This apprenticeship is delivered by London South East Colleges (LSEC) at their Bexleyheath campus. You’ll attend college one day a week for the duration of the Programme, with on‑programme assessments every 6 to 8 weeks. The college will also review your progress every 8 to 10 weeks. You’ll have a Skills Coach from the College who’ll be there to make sure you complete your apprenticeship studies to a high standard.
You can find out more information on LSEC and the course here.
What happens afterwards?
While there’s no guarantee of a permanent role at the end of the role, there is the possibility of continuing into a permanent role with Cory and with your studies on further courses such as the Level 3 Assistant Accountant apprenticeship and beyond.
You must have (or expect to obtain) GCSE passes at grade 4 or higher in the following subjects:
- EnglishLanguage
- Mathematics
It is important to note that we cannot accept applications from candidates holding a Bachelors or Masters degree as apprenticeships are funded by the UK Government and are aimed to teach new skills.
