Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA)

Location: Burton (DE11)

Pay Rate: 110 – 130

Contract: Temp to Perm

Start Date: ASAP

About the Role

  • Lead small group sessions and deliver pre‑planned lessons in the absence of the teacher
  • Engage and motivate students to support their learning and development
  • Demonstrate a strong understanding of the care and learning needs of students with SEN
  • Implement targeted interventions to meet individual student needs
  • Work collaboratively with teachers, professionals, and families to deliver personalised learning plans
  • Provide 1:1 and small‑group support for pupils with learning difficulties
  • Support classroom management and contribute to a positive learning environment

About You

  • HLTA qualification or equivalent experience within a school setting
  • Experience supporting pupils with additional needs, particularly SEN, autism, and complex behaviours
  • Strong behaviour management skills and the confidence to lead groups independently
  • A calm, patient, and adaptable approach to challenges
  • A genuine passion for helping young people succeed academically and personally
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team
