We are seeking a dedicated individual to fill the role of Technical Support Officer within our dynamic Planning Technical Support Team at Enfield Council. Responsibilities
- Play a key role in managing a diverse caseload of planning applications, helping to deliver a successful and widely recognised ‘fast track’ planning decisions service
- Be a part of processing over 5000 planning applications annually, including significant projects like Meridian Water, shaping the future of our borough.
- Register planning applications and engage with residents on new development proposals to ensure their voices are heard and considered.
- Deliver specialist technical support, guiding planning applicants through validation and navigating the complexities of permitted development and legislative frameworks.
- Act as a pivotal point of contact for residents, businesses, councillors and colleagues across the council managing a diverse workload of planning enforcement cases, helping to deliver a successful and widely recognised ‘expedient’ planning enforcement service
- Deliver specialised technical services through the Local Land Charges service, providing comprehensive information to support property transactions throughout the borough
- Assist in the planning committee process, ensuring our democratic procedures are well‑supported and informed.
- Help support planning and enforcement decision making through appeal processes.
- Champion service improvements and income generation targets with creativity and strategic thinking.
- Provide customer care that sets the standard for excellence, serving a diverse range of service users with professionalism and empathy.
