Ocean Freight Operator – Redditch

Sea freight-focused role | £34,000 – £36,000 | Mon-Fri 08:00-17:00

We are recruiting for an experienced Ocean Freight Operator to join a well-established and growing UK freight forwarder based in Redditch.

This is a hands‑on, start‑to‑finish role with a strong focus on sea freight import and export operations, offering the opportunity to develop into a fully multimodal operator with exposure to air and road freight (full training provided).

Role Includes

• Start‑to‑finish management of sea freight import and export shipments
• Handling customs clearance and all associated documentation
• Liaising with customers, overseas agents, carriers, and suppliers
• Arranging final delivery and transport
• Resolving operational issues professionally and efficiently
• Accurate job costing and invoicing
• Supporting air and road freight bookings as part of multimodal development
• Making consultative outbound calls to customers to support service delivery and growth

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years’ experience in sea freight operations (imports and/or exports)
• Solid understanding of international freight forwarding processes
• Customs clearance experience
• Confident handling files end to end
• Organised, detail-focused, and customer-driven
• Air or road freight experience beneficial but not essential
