Fabric Operative – Hampshire Clinic, Basingstoke

Full‑time, Permanent. 37.5 hours per week. Salary: competitive, dependent on experience, training and qualification.

Duties

  • Provide painting and decorating services for Circle Health Group facilities, both interior and exterior.
  • Complete plumbing tasks such as TMV maintenance, unblocking toilets, and changing washers.
  • Perform carpentry and joinery works, including the hanging of all types and styles of wall coverings.
  • Provide touch‑up and refurbishment services on a reactive and rolling programme basis.
  • Offer competent advice on redecoration and fabric repair requirements throughout the facilities.
  • Support sites across clusters when required for holiday, sickness, vacancies, or general support provision.
  • Ensure redecoration complies with Circle Health Group property lease obligations: exterior every 5 years, interior every 7 years for non‑clinical areas, and internal clinical areas at least once every 10 years when major equipment is replaced.
  • Complete all relevant mandatory training and maintain a working understanding of COSHH regulations and health & safety guidelines.

Qualifications & Criteria

  • Current Construction Safety Certification Scheme (CSCS) Card at an appropriate level of qualification.
  • Training in high‑workstanding, including PASMA/Ladder use.
  • Experience in hanging various wall coverings, including wide width, fabric and paper‑backed types.
  • Ability to work independently with a methodical process.
  • Part‑qualifications in an engineering training programme or part‑completed apprenticeship specialised in painting, decorating or carpentry.
  • Previous experience working alongside contractors and subcontractors.
  • Knowledge of COSHH regulations and basic understanding of health & safety guidelines.
