About the Role

As an Early Help Worker, you will work directly with children, young people, and families across Birmingham, delivering timely and effective support within a multi‑agency environment. You will play a key role in identifying needs, coordinating interventions, and empowering families to build resilience and achieve positive outcomes. Working closely with schools, health professionals, social care teams, and partner agencies, you will use evidence‑based approaches and restorative practice to support families facing complex challenges.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage a caseload of children, young people, and families requiring early help intervention.
  • Act as Lead Professional and coordinate multi‑agency support plans.
  • Complete Early Help Assessments and deliver targeted interventions.
  • Build positive relationships with children and families through persistent outreach and engagement.
  • Convene and chair planning and review meetings.
  • Work collaboratively with partner agencies to safeguard and promote the welfare of children.
  • Maintain accurate and timely case records and reports.
  • Deliver evidence‑based interventions and parenting support programmes.
  • Participate in duty cover, supervision, audits, and service development activities.
  • Promote equality, diversity, inclusion, and anti‑discriminatory practice in all areas of work.

About You

  • Have experience working with children, young people, and families in a supportive or safeguarding environment.
  • Understand the principles of Early Help and multi‑agency working.
  • Be skilled in building trusted relationships with families and professionals.
  • Be able to manage and prioritise a varied caseload effectively.
  • Have strong communication, assessment, and report‑writing skills.
  • Be committed to delivering high‑quality, child‑centred practice.
  • Be passionate about achieving positive outcomes for children and families.
