An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Outpatient Department reception team at Horsham Hospital. You will be key to supporting our improvements as we move forward with different ways of working, for patients requiring face‑to‑face and virtual consultation, first‑line investigations and ongoing treatment.
The Outpatients department at Horsham spans two floors covering both medical and surgical specialities. Your role will include checking patients in and out for their hospital appointments, canceling or rescheduling appointments, dealing with patient enquiries over the phone and face‑to‑face, preparing outpatient clinics daily, and working within a team of nursing, administration and clinicians.
Liaising with medical secretaries and the Medical Record Department at East Surrey Hospital is also part of your duties.
Shift pattern: 8–6 pm, two days a week on a rota basis, covering weekdays, evenings and weekends.
Responsibilities
- Check patients in and out for their hospital appointments.
- Cancel and reschedule appointments.
- Handle patient enquiries over the phone and face‑to‑face.
- Prepare outpatient clinics on a daily basis.
- Coordinate with nursing, administration and clinicians in the Outpatients Department.
- Liaise with medical secretaries and the Medical Record Department at East Surrey Hospital.
